About Siren Head Rebirth:
Siren Head Awakening is one of the few games on Steam that centre around one of the more modern-day urban legends of the same name. Created in 2018 by Canadian artist Trevor Henderson, Siren Head is a 40-foot tall humanoid monstrosity that has a pole with two attached broadcasting speakers for a head. It’s able to mimic human conversations and emit cries of terror, on top of blaring the Emergency Broadcast Signal warning. Of course, he preys on human flesh, and tonight he’s hungry for you. The gameplay is remarkably similar in concept to Slender: The Arrival, though instead of hunting down diary pages you’re going out of your way to find four car parts. Optionally, you can also invest the time to find four “survivor notes” if you’re interested in fleshing out the story a bit. Both the car parts and the notes always spawn in the same locations, so death is nothing but a relative inconvenience. It’s evident by the reviews and some other comments elsewhere online that many people find this game difficult, but all it takes is a bit of patience, paying attention to your surroundings, and leaving your flashlight mostly off, to get to the end. Spotting Siren Head in the forest can be quite tricky, as it’s quite gangly in appearance, and it is nearly the colour of the surrounding tree trunks, so you will be second-guessing every timber you pass by. As far as free games go, Siren Head: Awakening is a pretty decent way to spend a rainy evening. You’re not going to find yourself on the edge of your seat or screaming with fright, but there’s fun to be had in a couple of short playthroughs. The game is optimized well, and instead of opting for newer graphics the developer went with some retro PS1 style assets which work nicely here. If you don’t mind a Slenderman clone, this freebie won’t hurt your wallet or your hard drive space.
