I’m still mastering the nuances of playing it. You must choose your form before rolling the dice, so chances are you won’t have any idea which form is most beneficial. Once chosen, you stay in that form until you lose a fight. If there is another way to revert to human, I haven’t found it. I had the same concerns. It’s not about begrudging the charity, or that $1.99 is that big of deal, it’s the idea that if they change the wording once, they could do it again. So I wrote Nomad Games and received a very prompt reply from the Director, Carl Jackson. After reading his reply, I now understand that Nomad was only trying to help out a very good charity, and found themselves in a bad position. If they included the Shaman in the season pass it would have cut heavily into the benefits for the charity.
